National Disasters and FEMA's Role

Course Description

The presentation and discussion will focus on the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) role in responding to disasters declared by the President. We will start with the law governing the federal government's involvement in disasters and then how FEMA carries out its responsibilities. More detail will be explained about the various disaster programs that FEMA uses to provide monetary assistance to individuals/families and state/local governments.
