MORE Digital SLR Photography

Course Description

This course will briefly review the material covered in the previous course: the basics of photography, primary functions of the DSLR camera, and introduction to manual and semi-auto modes. A brief review of the basics of photography: such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, focal length, and various lenses will be followed by new topics which will build on these basics. Students will learn about exposure compensation, metering modes, understanding the histogram, and various focus modes. Subject matter topics such as composition, framing of the image, artistic use of depth of field, and use of natural lighting will be covered. Introduction to using the camera-mounted flash and a tripod for low light photography will also be discussed.
