Writing Children's Literature

Course Description

Have you always dreamed of writing for kids and teens but don’t know where to begin? This class introduces the range of children's literature, including picture books, chapter books, middle grade and young adult. We’ll examine the fundamentals of each category and look at genres, content, styles and examples of books for each age. The last session covers the world of agents, editors and publishers. You'll participate in writing exercises and also receive resource lists of recommended reading, workshops, conferences and writing organizations.
