Positive Approach to Care: Normal Aging vs. Not Normal Aging

Course Description

We'll help you learn, understand and recognize the differences in normal and "not normal" aging and cognitive functions. You'll learn to develop new skills related to approach, cueing and ability to connect with people affected by dementia. We'll talk about the impact of changing sensory awareness and processing as dementia progresses. The class will emphasize the value of matching helping behaviors to the person's needs and retained abilities to promote a sense of control and self-direction.

Courses cancelled by TCU will be refunded 100%.
