Eggceptional Art: Making Pysanky, the Ukrainian Easter Egg

Course Description

The time will fly by as you learn about Pysanky, the Ukrainian Easter egg. This ancient form of batik uses beeswax and dyes to create incredibly intricate and colorful patterns on real eggshells. We'll learn a little about the history of one of the world's oldest art forms, basic techniques and shortcuts for creating them, and enjoy hands-on guidance during your first experience with making an egg. Passed from mother to daughter for countless generations, pysanky is a simple, inexpensive family activity that's great for kids. Come learn all about how to start a new family tradition of your own. Tution includes $25 supply fee.
