Eggceptional Art: Making Pysanky, the Ukrainian Easter Egg

Course Description

For over five millennia, the peoples of Ukraine have fashioned intricately patterned, brilliantly colored designs on eggshells to welcome spring and the return of the sun. From ancient pagan prayers to today's celebrations of the Resurrection, these beautiful objects have been part of Ukrainian culture throughout history. But despite their beauty and detail, the process for creating pysanky is surprisingly simple. Wax, funnel tool, candle, dye and an egg are all that's required. Learn this ancient form of batik art as you make your own amazing keepsake for Easter, then leave with all the supplies to make more with the family!
