Interactive LEGO® Robotic Games: Grades 3 - 5

Course Description

A whole new way to tell a story and play a game – not only on screen but in the real world. Create sophisticated stories, animations and interactive mechatronic games with MIT-developed Scratch and LEGO® robotics. In this workshop, not only will you program on screen but you and your friends can interact with your stories and games through LEGO® creations.

Objectives
Students learn to program graphics on screen, control motors and interrogate sensors in real time using the MIT-developed Scratch environment and LEGO® WeDo and Mindstorms kits. These fundamentals create the basis for creating stories and games that are not only on screen but interact in the real world. Topics include problem solving, collaboration, communication, social development, storytelling, logic, programming, robotics, mechatronics, sensors, motors, sprites, coordinates, animation, game design and critical thinking.
