Interactive LEGO Robotic Games: Grades 3 - 5

Course Description

Build a robotic sloth, ladybug, dodo bird and an alien, program them and then take the kit home! Using an Arduino-based, LEGO® robotic kit, students will build, modify and program several projects using MIT-developed Scratch and other languages. You can even control your creations with an app! The kit is fully compatible with LEGO® and is endlessly programmable which means the fun and learning will continue for years to come.

Objectives
Students learn to program graphics on screen, control motors and interrogate sensors in real time using the MIT-developed Scratch environment and LEGO® Arduino robotic kit. These fundamentals create the basis for creating stories, games and robotics that are not only on screen but interact in the real world. Topics include problem solving, collaboration, communication, social development, storytelling, logic, programming, robotics, mechatronics, sensors, motors, sprites, coordinates, animation, game design and critical thinking.

Take-home includes an Arduino-based LEGO compatible robotics kit
