3D Printing, Modeling and Casting: Grades 6 - 12

Course Description

Design a widget for mass production…and then mass produce it! Using 3D modeling software to design your product then use a 3D printer to print it. From here we will show you how to create a mold from your creation and cast it over and over. Want to go directly to production, we’ll print casting mold directly so you can injection mold your parts!

Students will learn product design for production on a small scale using 3D software, printers and molding and casting techniques. Topics include product design, solid modeling, 3D printing, casting, injection molding, parting lines, draft angles, shrink rates, dimensions, tolerances and material science.

Take-home includes printed and casted parts created by students
