3D Game Design: Grades 6 - 12

Course Description

Are you a 3D Game fanatic? Have you ever wanted to create your own 3D Game? Now you can – with the Unity 3D game engine, a free software that you can also use at home. In this workshop you will work on a simple 3D Game using characters and objects in a 3D virtual interactive environment. From basic level design to keyboard controls you will be able to create a 3D game that you and your friends can play on your PC. There are no pre-requisites to this workshop.

Objectives
Gamers will learn the basics of understanding UV space, the game engine, asset integration and pipeline workflow. Rules, basic logic and simple modeling will be covered as well.

A flash-drive may be required to take projects home.

Extended Day Coverage (Mornings & Afternoons)
Families needing to drop off kids early or pick them up late may take advantage of TCU's Extended Coverage options. These optional coverages may be added during camp registration and checkout. Fees are based on a weekly basis (see fees below); extended coverage for individual days are not available.

  • Morning Extended Day Coverage (7:30am - 9:00am): +$35/week
  • Afternoon Extended Day Coverage (4:00pm - 5:30pm): +$35/week

    Lunch Coverage
    Campers registered for both a morning and an afternoon camp during the same week, or an all day camp will be supervised for lunch at no additional cost. Campers staying all day must provide their own, non-perishable lunch and beverage (refrigeration not available). Please note that no lunches will be provided by TCU or staff.

    Detailed information including specific camp classroom location will be sent several weeks in advance of the camp
