TCU Harp Workshop (now a 3-day camp)

Course Description

This three-day workshop includes solo master classes and ensemble rehearsals as well as interactive and informative sessions about the harp. A festival recital performance concludes the workshop. This year's focus will be on "Technique Tune-Up: How to Apply Regular Maintenance for Improved Performance." Tune up your body with a session of "Yoga for Musicians" presented by guest artist Kristen Queen. And kick off your own summer practice challenge with a guided plan to keep you motivated and moving all summer long. Open to young pedal harpists 8th grade and above, intermediate to advanced level. Students are asked to bring their own instruments, as availability of rental harps is quite limited. Ensemble Participation - Details about ensemble participation and the required repertoire are available at the SMI website: www.music.tcu.edu/smi.asp SMI Auditors are non-participants who must be 18 years or older. *Overnight participants will need to bring a bed sheet, blanket, pillow and towel. *Refund Policy: TCU reserves the right to cancel any program due to low pre-registration. Full tuition will be refunded if the class is cancelled by TCU. Registrations must be submitted by June 1, 2017. In the event that you have to cancel your registration, submit written notice to the Office of Extended Education. However, due to commitments to faculty and facility arrangements, applicants who withdraw after June 1, 2017 will forfeit all fees. No refund can be made if the participant is suspended, dismissed, or leaves the University without formally withdrawing, nor can any prorated reduction be made for temporary absence from the Workshop.
