Show, Don't Tell-But How?

Course Description

One of the most popular pieces of advice writers hear is "show, don't tell." But what does that actually mean and how do you achieve it? We will define and explain both showing and telling and when you should use one versus the other. We will study examples from published fiction that model each concept, and writing exercises will teach students to apply what they learn in their own work. You will also have the opportunity for feedback on your writing, and receive a resource list of recommended reading, workshops, classes, and writing organizations.
